Find Design Inspiration at Creative Mornings LA. Last week, we had the chance to catch up with our fellow right brain creative types at Creative Mornings LA to listen and get a dose of inspiration from Victoria Davis, CEO-founder of Space Dog Books. And inspiring it was. The discussion topic for the morning – Art and Technology in the Next Century. The space for inspiration – Ford & Ching, 722 Figueroa, LA.
During Victoria’s presentation, she discussed that “we are now in the era of artists who decide… it’s game changing time… and we’re now experiencing a revolution with the use of technology” and that we can see and experience it with companies like Apple.
We most definitely agree.
She explained that with the use of technology and online digital media, artists don’t need to rely on (working for) agencies and companies. Artists can get their work out there by using the three Ps of the digital age: promotion, production and publication. We also need to keep in mind that the artists don’t need to be the programmer coding the design, but rather the artists telling the programmer what to do instead. What a concept!
Although technology can help and give us a voice, we (artists) still need to do the leg work and collaborate with each other, as Victoria explained. Attn creative types– let’s collaborate! There’s more power to the masses.
“Join the revolution. Find your audience, find your voice, find your value, find your forum, your people.” – Victoria Davis
